  • noun In Mexico, a shrub, Karwinskia Humboldtiana, belonging to the buckthorn family, the fruit of which is attractive and cherry-like, but poisonous to man and animals. The leaves and root have purgative properties, and in many parts of Mexico, including the peninsula of Lower California, they are used medicinally. Also called tullidora.
