  • n. In anatomy and zoology, a tubule: chiefly in the plural: as, tubuli lactiferi, the milk-ducts; tubuli uriniferi, the urinary tubules.
  • n. In entomology, a prolongation of the abdomen, consisting of several rings which can be retracted one into another like a pocket-telescope, serving as an ovipositor. It is found in the females of many flies and of the hymenopterous family Chrysididæ. See Tubulifera, 1.
