These are uncommon names for common things. They have definitions one wouldn’t be surprised to see in The Meaning of Liff (or its sequel, or attached to one of those bastard children thereof, sniglets), but they are already “real”* words. Most of them are terribly useful, but only in a specific, limited context, and so have fallen into obscurity. Nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are all welcome.

* What constitutes a “real” word is left as an exercise for readers and contributors. Given the choice between a neologism and an obsolete word that serves nearly the same function, please prefer the latter. Avoid original protologisms, please. There are some very nice lists for those already.
