Benevision
1. Pronunciation. Say the prefix the same way you say it in “benefactor,” and say the whole word with the same rhythm as you say “television.”
2. Definition. It means the ability to see the good: to appreciate or see the potential in people, places, things, actions, or events. It captures in one word an inner strength to cope with adversity, and a positive attitude towards life and the world around you. “Benevision” is a value-adding perspective that enables you to see “the good side” of a situation. You would exercise your benevision to cheer yourself up. It would take benevision to give a fair and balanced view of something or someone you didn’t particularly like or think much of. As my Dad used to say, “Don’t always expect to find goodness in people, but it helps to assume it’s there.” Now that’s benevision in action.
