It sounds madeupical, but it's not.
adj. Particularly full of imagery; vivid.
Eg. "fistfights" is a more imagistic word choice than "altercation".

n. US Naval slang; humorous. Any horribly early (or late) time of day. Based on military time, eg 03:30--3:30am could conceivably be considered "o'dark thirty".
