  • Nawiliwili is an Hawaiian compound word and the name of a harbor on Kaua'i. It can be broken down into two parts, na - meaning calm or calming, and wiliwili - which has several meanings; a tree with winding branches, or swirling or circling. I would suggest that the word means calm circle of water which is pretty much how the harbor appears even when there is big wind on the ocean.
