My father, in South Africa, a man of Lithuanian Jewish heritage, would use the work 'pluppet' to mean babble, talk incessantly, etc. I do not know if it is Yiddish-derived, some English colonial colloquialism, Afrikaans-derived. But, I cannot find a definition anywhere.
