  • Because of censorship, certain words are not allowed in different forms of media. This is especially true for television shows. The Battlestar Galactia series succeeded in visual authenticity and attempted to duplicate the linguistic reality of harsh language by substituting the word "frak" for the infamous 'f' word of everyday life. Currently frak is used freely in conversation and communication, and no one complains. As it can be considered an alternative spelling for fuck, it sort of proves the point that a word is just a word, and censors are just imposing the personal prejudices of others upon the majority.
