  • I coined this word to explain the feeling that overcomes me when I read a freshman English essay wherein the writer of said essay does a mash-up of terms, concepts and ideas in an effort to not simply to obfuscate said reader, but to simultaneously impress, and academically stroke through such obfuscation.

  • Used in Natalie Mears' book "Queenship and Political Discourse in the Elizabethan Age" (Cambridge UP, 2005) to describe groups that operated outside the Privy Council and its authority, and which provided council and/or direction to the queen for the first thirty years of her reign.
