a word used to describe a person with a little knowledge about wines. but, there is more to learn. when you are proficient, you are called a Master Sommelier. Or a true oenophile...this is another new word.

"legs" is a term used for the streaks of wine that drip down sides of glass after it's swirled. the more "legs" wine has, refers to the amount of alcohol it has. more legs=more alcohol content.
