SR: Welcome to Wordie! I'm glad you enjoyed the Wilbur Chronicles, the writing of which was surprisingly therapeutic, even 18 years after the fact.
And I wouldn't worry too much about neglecting your study of probabilistic modeling, which is severely overrated anyway! :-)

Sionnach, I just read your Wilbur Chronicles. The first one was so hilarious and well written that I couldn't help but continue on to the next chapter and the next... This is both good and bad. Good since I laughed my little noggin off, but bad since I was supposed to be writing a paper on probabilistic modeling techniques, due tomorrow, ack! However, upon discovering that you are a statistician, I put all guilt aside and simply enjoyed the moment: after all, it was technically somewhat, sort of, slightly related, in a Wilbur kind of way :)
