From the comments above is seems that it is not possible to use the firewire lead / mains plug to charge my new new iPod, could someone explain why this is? is it a voltage / ampage issue or does Apple just want me to spend some more money! if I recall my original iPod came with the mains adapter, lead and dock all in the box.
