They're very hard too, like concrete.

It ain't the size, reesetee, it's the number. Eugh.
Wise move, r. You just never know.
Bilby, I don't want to think about the size of the ants that built that monster.
You know, it's funny... I really did get the sense that I shouldn't disturb her any more than I already had - maybe she was Pallas Athena in disguise... or the mean fairy who hadn't been invited to some christening party for some princess.
I can't get bilby's picture to work....
Send her over here and we'll see if our piles of ant dirt can't sort her out.
Maybe she's really a bird and is availing herself of the ants' formic acid.
Someone needs to read her that Hans Christian Andersen story where the "idiot" wins the princess and the kingdom because he spares the ants from suffering his stupid feet.

This morning I saw a skinny woman with big round glasses who was rubbing her feet into the cracks in the sidewalk. "Ant Patrol?" I asked.
"Ant Patrol?" I asked again, pointing to the former constructions which were now smears of dirt.
She said, "That's what I do - walk along everywhere and smash all them things out."
I shook my head, patted her on the elbow, then kept walking so I could catch my bus.
