  • Born in the print era (ca1972), Brainsprouts was a series of essays (reviews, op-eds, etc.) by Addison (Chip) Greenwood, triangulating 3 points of view onto a film, book, or event (usually current, sometimes a historical "anniversary"). (1) A function of the brain, located in a particular organ, area or network; (2) a received tenet of psychology (citing a source: Freud, Jung, CBT, Hollywood, common sense, etc.); (3) an idea from the nascent science of evolutionary psychology.
