I don't think the size of the candlebra is a problem -- note the second photo of the piece on a table next to a chair.
The tall and beautiful mullen, which suggested one of the forms of the stately candlebra -- almost the first plant that puts forth in the spring, and amongst the first to wither -- was now to be seen marshalled in groups over the fallows, with its erect and half-dried spire hung round
