What kind of drivel is this? The proportion of left-handed people is no different in Ireland than anywhere else.

Hey, I just call them as I read them. Though, in previous pages, the person he was talking about sparked a conversation about different families, or clans, of Irish people in that time period (early 19th cent.) and in earlier centuries. So it could be that by "of his nation" he meant the clan or ancestry of that particular person and not Ireland as a whole. I'll go back and check if you want.
