  • chris: i've heard 'cthulhu' pronounced by someone who got the skinny straight from the late august derleth of arkham house, lovecraft's semi-protege. but i don't know how to transcribe it, because of the two funny tootling-warbling lilts in it, where the vowels are. it was seriously meant to be a name that human beings would have a hard time pronouncing. 'ka-(warbling)thootle-(warbling)oo.

  • Is it a word?! If cthulhu / cthulu is a word, there's no doubt at all about hongry. Many more people have been hongry than have had whatever experience it is that our squid-faced friend purports to endow.
