The point in a (sci-fi/horror) flick when the heroine hears a noise in the (basement/dungeon/laboratory/crypt/atomic chamber), grabs a (candle/flashlight), because it's really dark in there, and goes in to investigate even though everyone told her not to and she'd be a lot safer if she just didn't go there in the first place.

Cut to the hero, fighting through a fierce storm in a (speeding car/horse-drawn carriage/shuttle craft), heading toward the (castle/laboratory/planet surface) to rescue the heroine because he knows exactly what's going on.
