Dhaulagiri (धौलागिरी) (Nepali) is the seventh highest mountain in the world. It forms the eastern anchor of the Dhaulagiri Himal, a subrange of the Himalaya in north central Nepal. 8,167 metres (26,795 ft). First climbed in 1960 by a team from Switzerland and Austria.

This peak is spectacular since it rises 7000 m above the Kali Gandaki gorge to the southeast in roughly 30km of horizontal distance, or in other words, pretty damn near straight up.
