The principal feature of an Arab house is the _kahwah_ or coffee room.
It serves to facilitate the performance of prayer by those who may happen to be in the _kahwah_ at the appointed times.
_fenjeyn kahwah_ is but four sips; to fill it up to a guest, as in the northern towns, were among Bedouins an injury, and of such bitter meaning, "This drink thou and depart."
