I recently read The Island by Victoria Hislop, which is about a lepor colony on an island called Spinalonga.
 _Labos_, a rarer form for _labor_, as _honos_ and _lepos_, which are even more frequently found than _honor_ and _lepor_.
In the lighter poets it passes too easily into an ideal of mere cleverness: until with Ovid (and in a less degree Martial) lepor is the whole man.
