  • I expect that "lyfull" (lyf "life + full) meant "full of life (i.e. the life force)", and therefore "life-giving" ("quickening"), and not "lively", at least not in our modern sense of the word ("vivacious, energetic, spirited").

    Could this mean "lively"?
