  • I have coined the word mercatious, a recursive word (a word contained in its own definition) I slyly use to make people feel insulted and ignorant. "How mercatious of you, forum poster who dared to disagree with me." It simply means, "Not knowing what 'mercatious' means." Mur KAY shus.

  • You're not the first to coin it. It apparently means "containing mercury":

    "...the outer container, also of steel, is sprayed with a special pigmented mercatious iron ore, which, with the galvanizing renders the container unlikely to rust."
