  • There is a street named with this word here in Albuquerque. Whenever I drive by, I burst into gigglefits. It would appear to be the name of a Wagnerian opera, but I don't know about all that, I just think it sounds awesome. I pronounce it, of course, as "parsey-full."

  • Parsifal is an old Holy Grail story, mentioned in books by Wolfran von Eschenbach and Chrétien de Troyes. They inspired Wagner to compose the opera.

I think it sounds awesome, too! :D

  • Haha, when I first read your comment I thought you were making a Monty Python connection. I'm such a dork. ;-)

  • I wish I was! Wagner is a nice guy but... It's just nicer to imagine:

    - What... Is your name?

    - Parsifal, leader of the grail brotherhood!

    - What... Is your quest?

    - I must redeem my knights!

    - What... Is your favorite color?

    - Blue. No, yelAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
