    Etymology: From "peever," one who expresses pet peeves about language and "verein," German for "association," "club," "society."

    "Peeververein" was coined by John E. McIntyre, night content production manager at The Baltimore Sun and author of the blog "You Don't Say" in a post on June 5, 2012, "Unmourned: The Queen's English Society."
