  • 'Pythonesque' has got nothing to do with the programming language as far as I was aware. It's really coined from the name of the UK TV comedy series, Monty Python.

  • Ah, I have some clue about this having recently watched a documentary series about the group. Monty Python was the name of the fictional theatrical agent who brought the various group members together, created to sound both flamboyant and right dodgy.
