  • "Two eggs side by each" - commonly heard in Canada. But, is this a Canadian-ism, or is it really an Americanism?

I assume it's a Canadianism because I heard if first from a Quebecer, but a search hints that it may be from the North-eastern States. https://www.google.ca/search?q="side+by+each"&btnG=Search+Books&tbm=bks&tbo=1#tbm=bks&sclient=psy-ab&q="side+by+each"&oq;="side+by+each"&gs_l=serp.3...276049.276049.4.277356.1.1.0.0.0.0.173.173.0j1.1.0...0.0...1c.1.18.psy-ab.lRDuTsH5sV4&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.48340889,d.cGE&fp=274ef54ba4991479&biw=849&bih=549
