from "tukamukaru" Comanche word for " to lie in wait for someone or something to approach" probably from the highland afforded by the mesa south of the town. The Kiowa language, one etymologist speculates, has a word similar to the Kiowa word for breast. Go figure (excuse or don't excuse the pun!!!!)
