From Latvia, the Vadatajs are tricksters, commonly considered demons, doing whatever they can do to lead travelers astray, leading them into crevaces or over cliffs, or make them take the wrong direction at crossroads. They can appear as both animals and human. They are also known to lead people the wrong direction spiritually as well.
