  • Have you been to the Waldo Astoria? between Albuquerque and Santa Fe on an exit off I-25 at the top of La Bajada.

  • When you consider that most of New Mexico looks like this...

...it becomes quite clear that finding something "between Albuquerque and Santa Fe" is easier said than done. :-P

  • Wow! Nifty photo! :-)

I was just kiddin', uselessness. I'm just jealous, having always wanted to visit NM and not yet having managed it.

  • It's a beautiful state, and my time spent here is utterly wasted. I guess that's true for me wherever I live, though, being an out-of-shape air-conditioned computer nerd. ;-)

  • "Some Muppets don't have eyes at all; instead, glasses, lashes or eyebrows function as 'eyes'. Others have the ability to roll their eyes, blink or move their eyebrows. Builders use a variety of methods to accomplish this, including wires and strings accessible to the Muppeteer, remote controls or a motion-capture device (known in the industry as a Waldo) worn on the hand of another performer.

  • My husband had a friend who was cooking up the idea of Where's Waldo books on tape. Think about it, cuz it's pretty funny. A sampling:

Astronaut. Scientist. Alien waitress. Waldo. Octopus-man. Space cop. Waldo's cane. Cyclops. etc.

PS: I live in PA but I haven't met Wally yet.

  • Waldo, Florida is the place where I first saw Catahoula Leopard dogs - prized by old Florida cattlemen for their fearlessness and ability to negotiate even the thickest palmetto scrub to extricate stray range cows and bring them to the herd.

  • The waldo looks nervous.
