So I've quite randomly stumbled into this group of unusual people online. They seem to be anarcho-communist types (it's an oxymoron, but there they are anyway) and I wouldn't be surprised if they do a lot of drugs.

I didn't go looking for them; they came to me.

They all insist on speaking in long, flowery sentences composed only of bombastic philosophy-textbook phrases and internet buzzwords, making understanding them nearly impossible. Here's what I can figure so far:

They claim the historical problem with authoritarianism is that dictators just use the wrong interface when exercising power over the proletariats. Whatever that means. The solution, of course, is to design a new interface.

Web 2.0, as you may know, is the jargony name for interactive web sites like Wordie.

According to these people, Web 3.0 (the next iteration of the internet) will incorporate artificial intelligence to link people together closer than is currently possible.

Web 4.0, the final version (in their words, "the one that WORKS!") is the rise of the internet beyond the level of consciousness, where all humanity plugs in and becomes one collective global entity. Then the enlightened will finally be able to lord over the ignorant for all eternity.

Unity achieved at last, we shall herald the return of the great god-alien Xenu and be forever removed from this mortal coil.

OK, I made up that last part. But the rest is the honest truth, making this officially the weirdest group of transhumanist acolytes I've ever personally encountered. Just thought I'd share.

I heartily disagree with them. It'll take us at least to Web 6.0, maybe even 7.0, to become a collective global entity. Mark my words.
