  • Hopi: coming home

    February 12, 2007

  • the Hopis and Zunis have in their oral history a story of a great exodus much the same as the Exodus and wandering, struggling and contemplating in the wilderness. Wenima is perhaps their similar to the land of 'milk and honey'. The Hopis deeded right of access to their lands to the Santa Fe railroad for a orchard of peach trees. Perhaps the peaches are somewhat equivalent to 'milk and honey' in a odd way?
