Aug's

I'm very pleased that they think so highly of me, and I'm both excited and nervous about the gig; even though my total jobs at one time have lately added up to full-time hours e.g. editorial assistant at CTE while teaching as an adjunct at St. Aug's, I haven't had a single full-time permanent position since I quit CADD Graphics in June 2002 so that I could attend Clarion.

Unfortunately, dress clothes are not really my bag, and I discovered that the clothes I already owned worked perfectly fine for the classes I taught both at Wake Tech and St. Aug's.

All but one of my students in both classes were there on the first day, which was so astonishing that I almost didn't know how to deal with it; in just about every class I've taught in the past, I'd be lucky to have half the students show up for the first class, especially at St. Aug's, which had the most backward registration system I've ever seen.

A nice change of pace from teaching at St. Aug's, where, depending on the class, and counting "passing" as a C or higher, I'd have about 30-60% of the students fail.

I'm teaching until the beginning of December, and will be getting my final paycheck from St. Aug's in the middle of that month.

I think I've already mentioned how screwed up the admissions system is at St. Aug's students have to "pre-register," then apply for financial aid, and after financial aid is approved they have to re-register for classes.

Classes at St. Aug's start up again a week from today, and about an hour from now we have a pre-semester departmental faculty meeting to gather our wagons in a circle and talk about what the Fall semester will bring, including any changes to the composition courses.
