A genus of plants of the family Sapindaceæ, which comprises about 30 tropical American species of climbing herbs, with alternate biternate leaves, coarsely serrate leaflets, and small white flowers. The most popular species is the balloon-vine (C. Halicacabum), a rapid-growing, easily cultivated tender annual, curious for its inflated seed-vessels. See
