- Formerly Ain·tab (īn-tăbˈ)Gaziantep A city of southern Turkey north of Aleppo, Syria. An ancient Hittite center, it was strategically important during the Crusades. The surrounding area is known for its textiles and pistachio nuts. Population: 853,000.
