  • A name proposed by Hertwig and Lesser for the sun-animalcules, fresh-water organisms provided with radiolarian skeletons, and grouped by Huxley with the marine Radiolaria. Some divide them into three families, Actinophryidæ, Acanthocystidæ, and Clathrulinidæ. See Radiolaria.
