Particularly for Safety, Quality, Logistics, Procurement etc.etc. orgs - reporting to a PM is alot like the fox guarding the henhouse.
In the UK the voters are not allowed to vote for the members of its Upper House (House of Lords), can't vote directly for their PM, where the PM is always the leader of the majority party.
Personally I like to think I would have done so anyway but then Newmania PM is an unlikely prospect and I am not in a good position to be realistic about it.
Dimbleby trashes her by saying the PM is the only one that's cleared her.
I do believe that Labour have dragged the country down into 2nd/3rd rate status compared with her era and even if the Conservatives win the next election Dave will not be up to the job a one term PM at the most. john

Whatever Laurier wanted to happen or not when he was PM is hardly “the standard for determining whether the Canadian immigration systems works” — the standard is whether Canada attracts immigrants (it does), whether people want to move to Canada (they do), how well Canada integrates them (pretty well), and whether those immigrants eventually become hockey fans (generally, they do).
So without US or European backing, each Israeli PM is just the temporary driver of the bus, with limited ability to set the course.
