Despite its excellent safety and peformance record, the sad fact is that we have could no longer build another AGR like Torness or Heysham II as our homegrown nuclear industry has de-tooled and de-skilled.

In the ca eof the UK its highly unlikely (not because of safety concerns) that we will ever build anymore AGRs (a design which I have considerable knowledge of having worked on the design, construction and commissioning of Torness NPS in the 80s).
