A variant of Münchhausen's syndrome; also known as van Gogh's syndrome, see description under that list entry.
Named for Ahasverus, shoemaker of Jerusalem, the «eternal Jew» who was condemned to restless wandering around the world without being allowed to die – to Judgment Day - as punishment for having shown Jesus away from his door. Sort of a medieval Ancient Mariner or Flying Dutchman.
