In Brazil and tropical America they are the produce chiefly of Pithecolobium parvifolium (Inga Marthæ of some authors). In Chili and on the western coast they are obtained from
Cæsalpinia(Balsamocarpum) brevifolia and Prosopis juliflora. Also written algarovilla.
