  • noun A genus of brachiate fossil crinoids, or encrinites; the pear-encrinites, or pyriform stonelilies, of the family Encrinidœ and order Crinoidea. One of the species is A. rotundus. They occur in the Cretaceous and Oölite formations. Originally written Apiocrinites.
