- In zoology, a group to which various limits have been assigned. In the Linnean system of classification, the seventh and last order of Insecta, including “insects” without wings, that is, crustaceans, arachnidans, myriapods, etc. In 1795 it was divided by Latreille into seven orders: Suctoria, Thysanura, Parasita, Acephala, Entomostraca, Crustacea, and Myriapoda.
