• Noting an acid, a compound, formed by the decomposition of atranoric acid, to which Paterno gave the formula C₉H₁₀O₄, but which Hesse has shown to be 1. 3, 5-trihydroxytoluene, C₆H₂(OH)₃CH₃. It crystallizes in needles which melt at 104° C. Called by Hesse physciol.
