1. n. A boat equipped with an automobile engine which, by virtue of its ability to make many more revolutions per minute than the regular marine type of engine, gives a high rate of speed. The first regular autoboat race in America took place on May 30, 190, under the charge of the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club of New York. See motorboat.
