• noun A name, said to be used in Brazil, of a clamatorial passerine bird of the family Tyrannidœ, the Pitangus sulphuratus of authors in general, Tyrannus sulphuratus (Vieillot), Lanius sulphuratus (Linnæus), originally described in 1760 by Brisson as la pie-griesche jaune de Cayenne, and hence long supposed to be a shrike.
