1. n. A colorless, tasteless, crystalline compound, C₆H₄OCH₃OCOC₆H₅, obtained by the action of benzoyl chlorid upon guaiacol; guaiacol benzoate; benzoyl guaiacol. It is sometimes taken internally for intestinal tuberculosis and diarrhea.
