  • noun A screw designed to bind and fasten two parts of any adjustable tool or apparatus, as the blade of a bevel; a set-screw; especially, a screw set in at right angles to another, either abutting against it or tightening the female, so as to prevent the male from turning.
  • noun In electricity, a simple arrangement by which two electrical conductors may be brought into metallic connection. (See cut.) A similar stationary arrangement is called a binding-post.
