- A family of fishes, typified by the genus Blennius, adopted by various authors with different limits. In Günther's system of classification it is a family of Acanthopterygii blenniiformes, having the ventral fins jugular and composed of a few rays (sometimes absent), a prominent anal papilla, and few or no anal spines.
