1. n. A genus of trilobites, belonging to the family Proëtidæ, having a semioval head and tail-shield (the latter being large), the glabellum small, and the entire surface covered with bead-like ornament. It is found in Carboniferous rocks and is one of the last representatives of these ancient crustaceans.
