- A suborder of parasitic crustaceans, of the order Simphonostoma; the carp-lice. It consists of the single family Argulidæ, having large compound eyes, a long protrusile spine in front of the suctorial tube of the mouth, and four pairs of elongated biramous swimming-feet. But the Argulidæ are by most authors referred to the Branchiopoda.
